SDA Hosts Sustainability Forum at Zebra Technologies: Advancing Green Supply Chains with AI

July 17, 2025, Guangzhou – The “SDA Sustainability + AI Enterprise Series” event was successfully held at Zebra Technologies in Guangzhou. Focused on the theme “Accelerating Sustainability: AI-Driven Green Supply Chains,” the forum brought together industry leaders to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence in building more sustainable and efficient supply chain systems.

Embracing the Green Transformation​

Bob Liu, Executive at Zebra Technologies, set the tone in his opening address: “Developing sustainable supply chains has evolved from an option to an imperative in today’s business landscape.”

The session featured concrete case studies from Zebra’s sustainability journey, with Grace Zheng sharing operational insights .

And Vivian Wei, who also chairs SDA’s South China Council, discussing strategic approaches to sustainable procurement.

Roland Chong, General Manager of Supply Chain Management and Quality Control for Maxim’s Group in Hong Kong and China, emphasized the strategic importance of this shift: “Sustainability has moved from corporate social responsibility to the very core of supply chain strategy, requiring collaborative innovation across the entire industrial chain.”

The forum highlighted how AI technologies are revolutionizing traditional supply chain models. A vice president from a leading global bearing manufacturer observed, “AI is fundamentally transforming every aspect of supply chain management, representing not just an efficiency improvement but a complete paradigm shift.”

Tony Lv, Chair of SDA’s Digital Supply Chain Council and former CTO of JD Industrial, presented compelling examples of how AI enables breakthrough applications in resource optimization and lifecycle management.

Participants engaged in substantive discussions around creating more open and integrated green supply chain ecosystems. The consensus emerged that successful sustainability initiatives require cooperation across organizational boundaries. SDA reaffirmed its commitment to serving as a platform for industry collaboration, promoting technological innovation, and developing standards that accelerate the adoption of green technologies in supply chain operations.
